Hello, this is Ryan Morra, the co-instructor for the course along with Walt - please call me Ryan. I am looking forward to meeting you all soon!
I live in Burlington, VT - having lived and worked elsewhere in Vermont before entering a graduate program at UVM. I have bounced all around the country from Connecticut, New York, Washington DC, Virginia and West Virginia to North Carolina, then out to Colorado, and back up to Vermont. This is now certainly the place I call home, and I am excited to explore the landscape with you!
I am really looking forward to co-teaching this course, because in my master's degree program I focused my project on working with a community in central Puerto Rico to discover the cultural and natural history of their hometown by using the PLACE Program model created by UVM and Shelburne Farms. We will use some of the resources of the PLACE Program in our own exploration of Burlington landscape.
In my spare time, I am an avid cyclist (both mountain biking and road biking), and I really enjoy hiking, cooking and growing food, sipping on coffees and teas, and reading books about natural history and crazy factoids about the universe.
Hi, this is Sam Pinkerton. I am a rising senior at the Field school in Washington DC.

Hi! I'm Alexandra Cahill, I go by Alex. I am a rising senior senior at Holliston High School in Holliston, Massachusetts.
After visiting Burlington this past February, and taking an environmental course at school this past year, I've become really interested in sustainability. Burlington is an awesome city, and it will be fun to explore UVM as well!
In my free time, I always have music on. I love playing tennis, and always have an itch to travel.
Hi, I am Alessandra Chieff, but most people call me Ally. I am a rising senior at Rumson-Fair Haven High School in Rumson, New Jersey.
Everyone I've talked to about this has said that Burlington is the most beautiful place to be in the summer, so I'm pretty excited about exploring it. I'm interested in engineering, and I am also pretty interested in the environment and sustainability, so I thought this course could help me understand if this is something I possibly want to do in college.
In my free time, I'm either dancing or at the beach, or both!

Hello! I'm Mariah Dalmer and I'm a rising junior at North Andover high school. I absolutely adore Vermont and especially Burlington, as I had lived there, close to UVM for many years. I hope to learn and discover more about Burlington and explore this field as a potential career, as well as explore UVM, and meet new people. I can think of no better way to spend some of my summer, then learning more about such an interesting subject in a beautiful town. I have been a competitive dancer for many years, and I also love horseback riding, and being outdoors and exploring. I can't wait to meet you all! Mariah
